Welcome to HEIBRiDS - a new Data Science Doctoral Program in Berlin


 

For the Spring 2019 recruitment of PhD candidates, the Helmholtz Einstein International Research School in Data Science (HEIBRiDS) invites applications for fellowships in the research areas listed below. HEIBRiDS provides a collaborative research environment across disciplinary borders. Dissertation projects will be of interdisciplinary nature, combining Data Science with applications in medicine, systems biology, solar energy and astronomy.

 

Topics belong to one or more of the following areas:

·       Deep Learning

·       Data management

·       Novel Tools and Algorithms

·       Mathematical Modelling

 

Research will be conducted in topical clusters at one of the research centers of the partner institutes in the capital region:

 

·       Max-Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC)

·       Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY)

·       Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB)

 

in cooperation with the participating university institutions:

 

·       Technische Universität Berlin (TU)

·       Charité-Universitätsmedizin Berlin

·       Freie Universität Berlin (FU)

·       Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU)

Application

To apply, a master's degree in quantitative sciences (computer science, physics, statistics or mathematics) or related applied field (bio- or geoinformatics etc.), awarded by July 2019, is required.
